- Soneium, Sony Group’s Layer-2 network, launched a 100M ASTR incentive campaign through the Astar Contribution Score (ACS) program to boost Web3 adoption.
- The ACS campaign rewards users for interacting with Soneium’s ecosystem, with over 40 projects participating and multipliers for certain assets.
Sony has once again achieved a breakthrough in the blockchain industry. Through its layer-2 network, Soneium, the giant company has launched a community incentive campaign worth 100 million ASTR. This initiative is part of a more comprehensive plan to hasten on-chain adoption and develop the Web3 ecosystem than only a venue to award prizes.
A Big Boost for the Soneium Ecosystem
Users of this campaign can accumulate Astar Contribution Score (ACS) points by interacting inside the Soneium ecosystem. Counted among the activities are using decentralized apps (dApps), lending liquidity on the DeFi network, and helping several Web3 projects. With a ratio of 10 ACS = 1 ASTR later, the points gathered can be converted into ASTR tokens.
Not less than 40 projects have taken part in this campaign. Among them are SoneX, Kyo Finance, SoneFi, Velodrome, and QuickSwap.
Users of assets such as ASTR, ETH, USDC, and USDT will gain a multiplier on the points they gather, therefore enhancing the attraction. Fascinatingly, ASTR has the largest multiplier—which naturally motivates users to use this token more often for transactions.
A Campaign Built on a Strong Foundation
Previously, CNF reported that Sony has partnered with several big blockchain players to guarantee the Soneium ecosystem grows. Among them are Astar Network, Alchemy, Chainlink, Circular, Optimism, and Graph Protocol. Thanks to the backing of these well-known names, Soneium is not just a regular blockchain project but also one with great basis for long-term expansion.
In the meantime, Sony is also getting ready to introduce a Fan Marketing Platform based on NFTs. Using integrated data analytic tools, this platform will give brands a new approach to interacting with fans and simplify NFT distribution and user tracking.
Stated another way, Sony is building an ecosystem more suited for mainstream users in addition to Web3 infrastructure.
100 Days, 100 Million ASTR, and the Future of Web3
The ACS campaign will run for 100 days, from February 20 to May 30, 2025. Users will be able to accumulate as many points as feasible over this period and convert them into ASTR. This is not only about free tokens but also a part of an endeavor to create a more vibrant and involved community inside the Soneium ecosystem.
Moreover, this approach seems to fit Sony’s objective of adopting blockchain technologies into its company. Sony seems to be saying by including large names in strategic alliances, developing an NFT-based platform, and providing actual incentives for users: Web3 is not only an experiment, but the future they are crafting.
Now, the question is no longer whether blockchain adoption will continue to grow, but how quickly an ecosystem like Soneium can attract more users to become actively involved. With 100 million ASTR as a sweetener, it seems we will soon see the answer.
